Subscribe in Google Calendar

Google only allows new URL subscriptions from a computer browser. Add the calendar once on the web; it will then appear in Google Calendar on Android, iPhone, and iPad when you use the same Google account.

Before you start

  • Use a desktop or laptop browser. The Google Calendar mobile app cannot add a new calendar from a URL.
  • Sign in to the Google account you also use in the mobile app.

Follow these steps

Step 1

Copy the schedule subscription link

Open the competition, season, or team page you want and choose Copy subscription link. For Google Calendar, copy the HTTPS address instead of opening the webcal link.

Step 2

Open Google Calendar on a computer

Go to calendar.google.com in a desktop browser and confirm that you are signed in to the correct Google account.

Step 3

Choose From URL

In the left sidebar, find Other calendars, select Add other calendars (+), then choose From URL.

Step 4

Paste the address and add the calendar

Paste the copied HTTPS subscription address and select Add calendar. Do not download and import an .ics file; importing creates a snapshot that will not follow future updates.

Step 5

Check it on your phone

Open the Google Calendar app with the same account. If the schedule is hidden, open the app menu and enable the new calendar.

Good to know

  • Google Calendar does not support adding a URL subscription inside its Android, iPhone, or iPad app. Use a computer browser for the initial setup.
  • Google controls how frequently subscribed calendars refresh, so a source change may not appear immediately.
